AGENT AUTHORITY — FIVE LEVELS

We don't hand it all over at once.We define how far, in five levels.

We divide the authority given to AI into five levels, L0 through L4. You move to the next level only after the record from the previous one has accumulated. These five measure how far people step back — not how much new equipment you install.

L0 Read · L1 Recommend · L2 Execute on approval · L3 Autonomous execution · L4 Emergency intervention [reference] · Contract scope L1–L3

Numbers in one place

WHERE YOU ARE NOWFinding a number takes time. Production sits in MES, inventory in ERP, equipment on a shop-floor PC. Before every meeting someone copies it into a spreadsheet.
FOR THE DECISION MAKERTime spent making reports becomes time spent deciding.
What
AI reads the scattered systems in one place. Nobody re-types anything.
How
Existing systems stay as they are. We connect them instead of replacing them.
People
People read the material instead of preparing it.
To move on
Equipment data has to arrive without passing through human hands.

WE STOP IF — If the numbers are not on one screen within four weeks, we stop here.

A warning that arrives early

WHERE YOU ARE NOWYou find out after the fact. A defect appears, a machine stops, stock runs out — and only then do you know. When a veteran is away, their judgement is away too.
FOR THE DECISION MAKERA veteran's judgement stays with the company. It stays when people change.
What
AI reads the data, flags anomalies and recommends what to do next. Decisions and execution stay with people.
How
Every recommendation carries why it was made. We do not hand over numbers without grounds.
People
People stop searching and start choosing.
To move on
A record of how often recommendations were accepted has to accumulate. That record is the basis for the next level.

WE STOP IF — If the adoption rate does not rise over three months, we do not move to the next level.

WHERE YOU ARE NOWKnowing is not enough — hands are short. Placing orders, changing work instructions and registering inspection results still sit with people.
FOR THE DECISION MAKERThroughput rises with the same headcount. It stops being a problem you solve by hiring.
What
Once a person approves, AI executes. Ordering, work-instruction changes and registration follow through.
How
Every approval is recorded — who approved what, and when. It can be reversed.
People
People approve instead of executing.
To move on
We verify over a set period that what was approved and what was executed do not diverge.

WE STOP IF — If approval and execution diverge even once, that process goes back a level.

Nights and weekends that run without people
FIG.4 — Nights and weekends that run without people
L3 · Autonomous executionYear 3

Nights and weekends that run without people

WHERE YOU ARE NOWSomeone has to be there at night and on weekends. The line waits because there is nobody to approve. In the morning you process what piled up overnight.
FOR THE DECISION MAKERNights and weekends become production time. It adds running hours without buying more equipment.
What
AI takes the judgement and execution inside a range you define in advance. Outside that range it calls a person.
How
You define the range. Commands that cross a safety limit are blocked by the system physically.
People
People set the range and watch the exceptions instead of approving each case.
To move on
This is where the contract ends. Above it, safety and legal responsibility have to be settled first.

WE STOP IF — If out-of-range calls come more often than expected, we narrow the range or go back a level.

02HOW WE SELL ITTHREE OF FIVE — BY CONTRACT

We sell three of the five.

The contract runs from L1 to L3 — year one recommend, year two execute on approval, year three autonomous execution. The fifth level (L4 emergency intervention) stays outside the contract until safety and legal responsibility are settled.

The contract covers three levelsWe do not sell the fifth level until safety and responsibility are settled
Grades come from logsWe judge on operating records, not on a plan document
No explanation, no promotionA process that cannot explain its causes does not get wider authority

We write the stopping conditions first. If the diagnosis finds no level worth starting, we end it there. We do not push anything further.

03STARTONE DECISION TODAY

There is one thing to decide today —
the first level.

You do not have to decide the other four today. The record from each level is the basis for the next, so we do not skip the order.

1 · Site and data diagnosis

We confirm which level you are on now.

2 · Use-case design

We decide which process to start with.

3 · Pilot

We see whether the first level actually runs.
